while I can appreciate Amy Owens article about local activists (UAO) a new organization here within our city . I take offense to the thought of people in my community promoting illegal status immigrants to seek refuge here . this debate is now taking center stage in the courts and myself like many other tax payers that must follow the laws and ordinances of a state or local government as well as federal or suffer the legal consequences . I do not feel sorry for a people that have abused our system and have taxed it financially for years . people on the side of this protectionism are not looking at the people that are footing the bill nor do they care about law abiding citizens if they are trying to pass these illegals off as law abiding when in fact they have been breaking the laws for years simply hoping to not get caught. liberals will call me a racist because I am expressing my true logical feelings in this matter but fact is I am not racist against new comers or immigrants , I am against persons that get special treatment to side step the law of the land while we the true citizens of America have to abide by the laws. we are not talking about a few thousand people here . it is not fair to the millions of immigrants that went through proper channels . We the people could never go to another country and get away with this so why here !. lastly , some sanctuary cities are trying to make it legal for illegals to vote . this is a slap in the face for all legal Americans and especially women that only became able to vote after the 19th amendment was created in 1920 but now illegals just get this right handed to them , we can not vote in another countries election so why here . it would seem that we have a lot of anti – American people living amongst us that only want to abide by the laws that suit them .
