Donaven “Don” Reinke, age 55, of Town of Evergreen, died Thursday, September 6, 2018 in Antigo.
Don was born on June 19, 1963 in Rhinelander.
In 1986, Don showed up for their first date as Sue Jovaag’s white knight. On December 18, 1992, they were united in marriage in Antigo.
Don attended Rhinelander High School and went on to serve in the US Army.
He was employed by Robbins Flooring, Inc. in White Lake as a quality control manager.
Don loved and enjoyed spending quality time with family, friends and his fur children. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life with fishing, volleyball, grilling, bonfires, working on cars, spotting eagles, horses, playing video games with the boys, watching the Green Bay Packers, and Milwaukee Brewers. He was truly the best dad a girl could have.
His kind and generous spirit is depicted in this message from his dear friend Mark Parsons, “To the man that tried to help everyone, to the man that cared for everyone, to the man who never expected anything in return, to the man that took me under his wing when I had no one to look up to. You will never be forgotten, RIP role model, friend, and father I didn’t have. You were loved by everyone, Don Reinke.”
Survivors in addition to his wife, Sue, include his mother Diane Bronk of Iron River, MI, his daughters, Kristin (Bob) Baumgartner of Oshkosh, WI, Marny Martin-Schroepfer of Algoma, WI, 3 grandchildren, Kyra Jane Snodgrass, Austin and Carter Schroepfer, a great granddaughter, Addilyn, a sister, Mary Reinke of Iron River, MI, 3 brothers, Jeff (Laura) Reinke of Wausau, WI, Pat (Naolma) Reinke of Fond du Lac, WI, Fred (Beth) Reinke of Iron River, MI, his mother-in- law, Jean Jovaag of Oshkosh, and a brother-in-law, Bruce (Chris) Jovaag of Oshkosh.
Don was preceded in death by his father-in-law Myron Jovaag.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 15 from 12:00 until 3:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. A gathering to celebrate Don’s life will follow at the White Lake Pavilion.
