Carol “CW” Williams, age 88, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Evergreen Retirement Community. She was born to Sylvester and Mable (Van de Leest) Steinbrecher on July 10, 1930 in Green Bay, WI. She married the love of her life, John Williams, in November 1957 and they spent 22 years together until his passing in July 1979. Carol owned her own real estate company in Oshkosh, Carol Williams Realty and was very involved in the community. She was passionate about her work and her play. If she wasn’t out selling houses, she was setting up a bridge game or spending time in her beloved garden. As a member of the Oshkosh Country Club she enjoyed spending time on the golf course and hanging around the pool with her grandchildren. As a member of Oshkosh boat club there were many weekends spent on the boat cruising the rivers and lakes around Oshkosh. She enjoyed traveling and has been to many exciting places. Carol was a member of the Rotary Club, Learning in Retirement as well as serving on the Advisory Board Committee of Fox Valley Technical College for many years. A few things that could never be denied were her love of that special shade of green, sitting on a beach, a good card game, Taco Johns and chocolate ice cream…she loved a trip to Leon’s!

Those she held close in her heart that preceded her in death were her husband John, father Sylvester, mother Mabel and sister Jean O’Brien.

Carol is survived by her sons, Craig and Steve (Chris Wales) Williams; daughters, Ruth (Michael) Brasch, and Mary (Mike) Newman; brother, Glen (Jean) Steinbrecher; grandchildren, Justin (Tecie) Newman, Josh (Sophia Scull) Newman, Nick (Tessa Zimmer) Williams, Zach Williams, Hannah Williams, and Andrew Brasch; and one great grandson, Connor. The family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen Retirement Community and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care.
