Neal Richard Stein, age 60, of Oshkosh, born July 9, 1958 in Escanaba MI to Isadore and Marvel Stein.
Neal moved to Oshkosh in January 1979 to work for Wisconsin Bell. Neal also managed several Speedway stations and owned two taverns – Neal’s Sixth Street Flyer and Neal’s on Oregon. His proudest achievement was graduating with honors from UWO with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. Teaching was his dream.
Neal married Linda Kalous on Nov. 27, 1992, five years to the day of meeting.
He enjoyed riding his Harley, collecting cars and trucks and spending time with his wife and numerous pets.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of 26 years, 1 month and 23 days. His mother and father in-law Marjorie and Edwin Kalous. His sisters-in-law, Sue (Dave) Tews, and Mary (Tim) Nelson. Special niece Holli (Jamie) Krueger, special nephew Jezra Hazelwood. His 3 precious grandnieces Allie, Charlotte and Lucy. Nieces Samantha Nelson and Kelli (Mike) Mincheski and their family. Nephews Charlie Nelson and Adam (Becky) Tews and their family. Neal is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
Neal was proceeded in death by his parents and a very special Aunt Minnie Stein.
The Family wishes to thank Ascension Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion. Neal’s family would also like to give a special thank you to the staff at Lakepoint Villa Assisted living for their amazing care and John Lemberger for his numerous visits that brought Neal happiness and comfort.

Funeral Service for Neal will be held on Thursday January 24, 2019 at 7:00 PM in Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home at 865 S. Westhaven Dr. in Oshkosh. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until the time of service. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society.
