Douglas Carl Von Hoff, age 94, passed away August 7, 2020 at his residence at Bella Vista. On July 10, 1926 he was born to Carl and Olive (Rumlow) Von Hoff in Oshkosh, WI. He married Barbara Jones on June 18, 1950 in Waupaca, WI. Together they just celebrated their 70th anniversary.

After graduating from Oshkosh High School, Doug served his country by enlisting in the Navy during World War II. He was a boxer in high school and while serving in the Navy, he attained his Golden Gloves championship and went on to become a professional boxer in the Midwest. During the 1950’s Doug and Barbara raised mink. He was a member of the Oshkosh Masonic Lodge #27, and a Shriner. He worked as a tool designer, tool crib supervisor, and he was in Staff Club at Giddings and Lewis in Fond du Lac. Later in life he was a member of the Oldsters Club from Giddings and Lewis. He was very proud of the fact that he worked up until the end of January 2020 selling machine tools and abrasives for the Fisher Co.

Doug is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Nancy (Gary) Konrad, Linda (Rich) Terlau; brother, Stanley Von Hoff; sister, Marion (Chuck) Beyer; grandchildren, Kristi (David), Katie (Mike), Kevin (Robyn); great-grandchildren, Chloe, Briana, Jane, Mya, Frederick, Vincent; numerous in-laws as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his sister, LaVerne Schmeling.

A funeral service will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home – Westside (100 Lake Pointe Drive) on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 11am. Rev Tim Greenwald will be officiating the service, with a burial to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10am until the time of service. Due to a statewide mandate, the wearing of masks will be required.

A memorial has been established.
